Chiltonville Congregational Church offers Christian Education options for all ages. We have a Sunday School Program for grades k – 12 which meet Sunday mornings at 10 AM. Children attend worship with their families for opening prayer and a children’s story and then attend classes for grade levels K – 3, 4 – 7, and 8 – 12.
The curriculum for grades K – 3 and 4 – 7 are very similar, however geared towards the grade specific levels of learning. Students will learn through reading of the Bible, storytelling, crafts, song, and discussions. The “Live Curriculum” is used. All lessons are Christ-centered and are put in order to better help their understanding of God, the bible, the world around them and to build a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.
Grades 8 -12 students make up our Youth Group. The Youth Group students attend church service during the first week of the month to participate in Communion while attending classes during the remaining three weeks. Their classes consist of a book study on the book, “Stomping Out the Darkness,” which deals with identity. Their classes also consist of Youth Group meetings which are devoted to fellowship, frontline, and fun.
During classes of all ages, children are asked about experiences on their frontlines, encouraged to pray aloud and alone, and given full support of the teachers and congregation. This multifaceted approach helps our children to continue learning and applying their Christian faith in a variety of ways while participating and serving as full members of the Church community. This approach helps the children to see that God is both present and active in all of life, and that He gives us daily opportunities to share his love with others.
