Chiltonville Congregational Church offers church school for grades K-12 at 10:00AM on Sunday mornings. Children attend worship with their families for opening prayer and a children’s story and then attend classes for grade levels K-4, 5-8 and 9-12.
Grades K-4 focus on learning the books of the Bible and their stories. Lessons are taught through crafts, song, games and discussions.
Grades 5-8 use the “Live Curriculum” for Junior High. The lessons are Christ-centered and help the students build a strong relationship with Jesus.
Grades 9-12 use the “Live Curriculum” for High School and classes meet the second and fourth Sundays of the month. The lessons focus on leading a Jesus-centered life while facing issues in the 21st century. The first Sunday of the month, the class is invited to Worship and take Communion.
Every third Sunday, the teens assist in the younger classes or act as Worship Assistants to the Deacons, helping with greeting, collecting the offering, presenting a Children’s Message and “This Time Tomorrow” as teens share with the Congregation their experiences on their frontlines. This mult-faceted approach helps our teens to continue learning and applying their Christian faith in a variety of ways while participating and serving as full members of the Church community.
During classes of all ages, children are asked to share their daily stories about their frontlines: the places and with the people God privileges them to be each day. This approach helps the children to see that God is both present and active in all of life, and that he gives us daily opportunities to share his love with others.
